Brothers is a drama short film about friendship, betrayal and the fragility of mental health, starring two up and coming young actors – Michael Workeye (Sitting In Limbo) and Jay Lycurgo (I May Destroy You), inspired by the real life experiences of Michael and his relationship with his older brother’s mental health struggles. Written, produced and directed by Huse Monfaradi, From conception to shooting, the film came together in less than a month with a budget of almost nothing. It was part scripted and part improvised and shot in under a day.
At the end of 2020, Studiocanal UK and the mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) came together to put their support behind the film.
With a stunning original score, by the legendary British singer/songwriter Ed Harcourt, and an incredible poster created by acclaimed graphic designer Pete Hanson, Brothers is director Huse Monfaradi’s first dramatic short film, tackling a hard hitting subject in need of more attention and understanding.
